More Than an Internship

When I first applied for an internship at SonSet Solutions, I was like most college students, looking for experience and college credit. What I did not expect was to encounter a place where professional development and spiritual formation go hand in hand. Working here has been like biting into a rich chocolate cake, you think you know what to expect, but it surprises you with how satisfying it is.

From daily devotions to intentional mentorship and community connection, the other interns and I have been welcomed into an environment where people care about the work and about each other. Through it all, I have seen how every task, whether technical or relational, plays a role in advancing the gospel.

As Alex said, “Getting to encourage one another and build relationships has been a great blessing.” Rebecca shared, “I’ve found what almost feels like a second family to me.” Nathan concluded, “There’s something special about working with people who share your values and are genuinely passionate about using their skills to serve others.”

That is the kind of culture SonSet Solutions creates – one rooted in unity, purpose, and a shared calling. SonSet Solutions’ culture is the kind of culture that does not simply shape interns into better professionals, but into more faithful, servants of Christ.

Every year, this opportunity arises for university students who are interested in developing their professional skills within a missions context, from technical engineering work to communications and media.

Interning here has confirmed for me that a good organizational culture is not just “nice to have,” it is the beating heart of why we serve and give our best. I leave this experience not just as a better professional, but as a more faithful and courageous servant, grateful to carry these Christ-centered values into whatever comes next.
