Christmas 2023

Dear Friends,

As we approach Christmas, world news broadcasts have been difficult to hear. Someone recently expressed confusion as to why God permits such horrors. Others wonder if God just does not care. The Bible says that nothing could be farther from the truth.

God not only cares, but in a sweeping outpouring of grace and love beyond all human comprehension He sent His Son to open a door to the Father that no man can shut! This is News that has eternal impact! This News must be shared with as many as possible.

At SonSet Solutions Canada we think this News is so vital that gifted people have willingly moved far away from home, while others offer their time and technical talents here at home to alleviate hardship in out of the way places and in so doing open the door to share the message of God’s redeeming love. Following Jesus example, we want to use more than words to demonstrate His love. We desire to help by offering solutions like:

• Dependable electricity in hospitals
• Clean water wells
• Physical, emotional & spiritual teaching via solar powered radios

In Elkhart, IN, you will find many retired and active volunteers using engineering skills to design life-changing solutions to help missionaries and nationals in various global locations. And globally you will find others who have given their lives to travel to out of the way places.

Bill and Emily Cheung: Spain, North Africa and the Middle East – Using FM and Shortwave radio and digital media to reach a variety of language groups with the Gospel * Initiated a plastic recycling solution that uses the process to illustrate how God can change our lives from Trash to Treasure * Working with local partners with projects that improve the lives of asylum seekers from unreached people groups, showing the love of Jesus in practical ways.

Brent and Shelley Weeks: Asia, with a special focus on India, Myanmar, Bhutan, North Korea and Japan – Serving in Broadcast Engineering with Reach Beyond in Australia * Using shortwave radio to minister in 25 languages * Broadcasting the Message, with listener follow up, to closed or hard to reach countries, often in remote places, with little or no access to other Christian media or ministry.

Earl and Kathy Hartwig: Serving Globally – Designing and installing solar power systems to assist partner radio stations and hospitals thus enabling them to serve more dependably and efficiently in areas lacking this basic infrastructure. (in 2023: Peru, Burundi and DRC in Africa)

Barry and Marlene Hamm: Ecuador and Canada – Working as an IT specialist for SonSet Solutions Canada * Assisting the local Ecuadorian church in areas of technical need, evangelism, discipleship, youth programs and community outreach programs, endeavoring to strengthen believers.
