Three Phone Calls

After spending some time in Antioch, Paul went back through Galatia and Phrygia, visiting and strengthening all the believers. (Acts 18:23 NLT)

It started with a phone call…

“Can you help upgrade our network’s radio stations with new digital consoles?” Douglas’ voice was urgent. SonSet Solutions had helped Douglas, founder of Pacific Islands Christian Network in Fiji, establish these three stations decades ago. SonSet Solutions has provided ongoing technical support for this network of stations that broadcasts in English, Hindi and Fijian reaching a population of 167,000 with gospel programming.

A conversation with Tui, manager and technician of another long-time ministry on a neighboring island in the South Pacific, revealed their need for technical repair of aging transmitters. Showers of Blessings in Samoa broadcasts in English and Samoan and reaches one Samoan island and part of another with the good news of Jesus.

Another request came in to assist a Colombian native who had worked for one of our partner ministries. Darli had a vision to return to his home country and begin a radio ministry to rural pastors and their communities.

Three phone calls – three opportunities to strengthen believers in key locations.

Alan Good, one of our skilled technicians, and his wife worked these trips into their schedule. Alan trained station managers, repaired broken transmitters, helped set up a new recording studio, and even provided remote assistance after he returned home.

Paul the apostle’s mission field was first-century believers. SonSet Solutions’ mission field exists in the 21st century. Two thousand years later, our means may be different, but our purpose is the same – to visit and strengthen believers. Technology is accelerating this impact.

One broadcaster from Showers of Blessing shared the result, “People are getting to know the Word of God every day… I’m blessed to be a part of it.”
